Thank you for your speedy reply. HP told me that everything will be removed from my
computer & it'll be as if I just purchased it & I'd have to reinstall any
software I had before.

So if I understand you correctly, any documents that I've created in OO should
be stored in the Notebooks HD - And all I have to do is back up the entire
Open Office. Correct? I found it in my computer.

Sorry, but I haven't given any advice at all.
You asked for:"advise on how or what to do not to lose these documents before I reinstall Windows 10"
I only asked you: "what has this to do with OpenOffice?".

And there shouldn't be reinstalling OO?

Everything on your notebook will be whipped of your Notebooks HD, so also OpenOffice. So make sure you back-up the complete HD and ask someone with some more computer knowledge
to assist you with the back-up and restore.
If you have bought software that has a licence key, make sure you know the key as you need them
when you reinstall the software.

Your help is very much appreciated!

Hello,

I've searched your forums but couldn't find what I was looking for. Please
help. My new HP notebook (2 mos old) running Windows 10 needs to have Windows
reinstalled. I tried to save my documents to my flash drive but could not.
What has this with OpenOffice to do?

Please advise me on how or what to do not to lose these documents before I
reinstall Windows 10. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
M -E Wong
