Adding to Rory's observations:

 1. I have successfully installed Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 on a Windows 10 in a
Virtual Machine.

 2. I have successfully upgraded a Windows 8.1 machine to Windows 10.  That
machine had OpenOffice 4.1.1 already installed.  It runs just fine and my
existing ODF documents open just fine.

There is an open issue on Bugzilla concerning possible differences in the
clarity of some font rendering.  We are checking that out.  See
<https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126436> for details as they unfold.

Reports on the OO support Forum are that AOO 4.1.1 runs on Windows 10
