Is there any way in Open Office to turn off the automatic numbering after I put some number at the beginning of a line?
Yes.
I delete and click to cancel and also cancel in the top material, ...
It's easier than you are making out. The problem appears when you press Enter to start the next paragraph, and OpenOffice Writer offers the next number in sequence. Immediately the second number (that you don't want) appears, go to Edit | Undo or just press Ctrl+Z. The AutoCorrection will be removed, leaving you with just the paragraph break that you wanted.
... but the next time I use a number, it again starts to automatically add and indent.
If you really want to turn this facility off completely, go to Tools | AutoCorrect Options... | Options and remove the tick from "Apply numbering - symbol: *".
