The IMG file produced by the ddrescue is on the old desktop (F-42

I finish this recovery? Again, I'm not an IT professional. I need
complete step-by-step instructions. While I await that, I'll be
trying (again!) to get yahoo e-mail working in Thunderbird.
Yahoo email has been very flaky of late. Seems to be working now with
imap.mail.yahoo.com
OAuth2 SSL/TLS
They have never commented on what they have going on
Thank-you, Robert.
I started encountering the problems very early this month. I've been
wrestling with the issue since then. I think I have it solved this
morning, but I'm still a little uncertain. I had trouble emptying
"trash" in one account this morning.
The problem seems to be caused by yahoo starting to require an "app
password" to access the service via Thunderbird (and maybe other apps
other than a browser).
I do not know what goes on "under the hood". But cookies seemed to
matter. What is and is not in the password table (Settings -> Privacy &
Security -> Saved Passwords) seemed to matter. Until the account adding
is truly complete, when sending a message, manual entry of passwords in
the Thunderbird password entry GUI must be quick. Something's
memory:
yahoo's? Thunderbird's? Firefox's? the OS or the file system's?
also seems to matter. After changing something, it seems to sometimes
take a while, or even need a quit and re-launch, or even a reboot, for
the change to "kick in".
