Apologies in advance for this off-topic question.

I'm a frequent user of the Quota question and answer site
(https://quora.com) and for a long time have noticed a problem when
trying to play embedded videos, to wit: they simply don't play but just  show a blank space. This happens with Firefox, Chrome and Chromium on
Fedora, and even with the Quora app on Android (15).

I've reported it as a bug to Quora, but there are multiple similar
reports dating back years and I've little confidence of a fix.

 Can anyone suggest a workaround?

 Can you provide a sample?

I found an embedded video and it did play.

 There are several here:

They all work on my KDE box on Chrome. Are you using Wailand or X11? I
 read of
many similar issues bound to Wailand.

I'm using Wayland and there are no issues with that site.

Sorry, I didn't mean with Quora but with playing videos, running video- calls,
etc.

I haven't had any issues with Wayland for a long time and I've done all those things.

Give to the old X11 a try to check if you have the issue.

It's been years since I've used an X11 desktop.
