I have always considered it better to make a new install on new hardware. Then I config the services and backup and restore the data. This way you get to review the config and take advantages of improvements since you did your original installation. One thing I do for SSD is turn off atime recording for all partitions as this causes writes to the SSD for something I never use, atime. This helps extend the life of an SSD a little bit. Did you buy an SSD with a good endurance? It should be in the spec of the SSD. If the vendor does not publish the endurance spec then I would personal not use such an SSD. Barry
