That's the sort of thing that would make me want to run "journalctl -l -f"
on an xterm remotely connected from another system that stays up to see
if the same stuff shows up before each crash.

I'm going to try this, even though "-b -1 -r" showed nothing after the fact: normal noise, then dead silence. Perhaps the journal entries were not flushed to disk, but this might catch it.
