That cannot be. For every NACK that bb generates, there will be at least a
warning with the cause in bb logs. But you need to have enough detail to see
it. From your sayings, it doesn't look that you have enough detail, else bb
would overun your filesystem with debug messages.
Please post maximum detail bb logs relevant to your error. Don't expect to
go through the sources if you can't read the logs.

Nikos

Hi Nikos,
I have checked bearerbox but there is no NACK record and all the
entries in there are from way back.

Check: log-file in group = smsbox in your kannel.conf.

Thanx Rene once again,
I have checked the log files unfortunately i don't seem to have smsbox
log file. I have bearerbox.log, access.log and wapbox.log in my
/var/log/kannel/ directory.
Kind Regards

Thank you Rene for your response. How can I check whats causing
bearerbox to send a nack? Twisting the question around, what could be
the cause of a nack response?

Sqlbox saves the message upon relaying it to bearerbox.
If bearerbox sends a nack upon return, then sqlbox doesn't delete the
message.

Hi Everyone,
@Rene: am still trying out "allowed-receiver-prefix" if it doesn't
work then I'll send the file as suggested by Anthony.
Got another puzzle though. We have an http interface that is
integrated with kannel which we use for bulk messaging. It's been
working just fine but on Friday it started behaving funny. When you
send a message using the online interface, it shows that the message
has been queued for delivery. If you go to sqlbox database you will
actually see the sent message in the send_sms table. Unfortunately the
message doesn't get delivered and there is no record of it in the
access log file.
The other services configured on kannel are working just fine only
this online interface is the one with this issue.
I know kannel is ok becasue the other services are running and I also
know that the interface is fine based on the fact that am able to
insert the message into the send_sms table of the sqlbox database. I
like getting dirty with code so any pointers as to where I can begin
my troubleshooting is very much welcome.
Kind Regards,

Mwamba
its best if you send whole file. How many 'services' have you got?
How
many
'keywords'? Kannel does not stop to search when it encounters the
first
denied rule, it keeps searching down until it hits a match. This is
what
you
may be experiencing.
Also prefix is normally for the source phone that is allowed to use
the
service. For example if you wanted to only allow MTN or Zain you can
use
'allowed-prefix' and set it to 096 or 097.
Thanks
Musaluke

Hello,
Please copy the Kannel users list on consecutive messages. You
might
get
more and better response.
But if you do, mask sensitive data such as passwords.
If you want an sms-service to respond to just a particular
shortcode,
use
allowed-prefix in group = sms-service.

Subject: Running Short Codes on Kannel
Hello everyone!!
Am relatively new to kannel but it's been an interesting ride so
far.
I have a question though and hope someone out there will help me
out.
I have 4 short codes that am running now the problem is that when
I
send a request using one of the short codes, the response
sometimes
is
returned on a different short code from the four that am
administering.
Has anyone else experienced this using kannel as the sms gateway?
Any
highlights on how I can overcome this will be much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
