I'm getting this problem as well. But mine seems to be related to udev
not registering the device.

If I do:

  ./linux ... udba=file... ....

and then inside:

  mount -t ext3 /dev/udba /mnt

it fails saying that /dev/udba does not exist. And it's right, it
doesn't.

I'm using a debian root fs that has udev and hotplug and everything it
needs but it doesn't seem to build the UDB devices.


I'm a bit lost by the whole thing.
