That parameter has been renamed to just "Keywords". See /usr/share/applications/gnome-background-panel.desktop for an example. But it seems that doesn't actually work for the Dash. What does work is "X-AppInstall-Keywords=" like I added to a few of the gnome-games, such as gnomine, gtali, etc. I've opened https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/941231 requesting that Unity support the new "Keywords" entry, and I'll be following up with Software Center to do the same.
