That's always a good thing. A couple of years ago I installed Ubuntu
for a friend's mum. She was given a PC by my friend which was to him
'old' (Athlon XP 2200, 512MB Ram) and it was riddled with junk and also
had the wonderful Windows Genuine Advantage thing come up saying that
Windows wasn't genuine.

Anyway, I replaced Windows with Ubuntu, took it over and demonstrated
everything and his mum was really pleased. All she wanted was basic web
access and e-mail along with the ability to write letters and do mail
merges for her Christmas card list. In the couple of years since I've
installed it I have had just one call, and that was a year later when
she couldn't remember how to do the mail merge.

Thinking about it, I probably should give her a call and see if she is
okay with it, and possibly suggest upgrading to Ubuntu 8.04 (I think her
PC was running Ubuntu 7.10).
