If they're running Windows, I'd suggest LogMeIn, doesn't require any 
ports to be open (ideal if you're connecting in from various PCs and 
connections) and it has a flash based web interface so you can run it on 
a PC, Mac or Linux box (they also have an iPhone client available for 
those who have iPhones).  It's also free, well for basic use, they do 
also have a version which you can subscribe to for extra bells and 
whistles, but I get along fine with the Free version.
