I've heard from other people of occasional problems with Intel drivers and some problems with audio, but my experience has been good with both of these items. To me it's a bit interesting that the Intel drivers are ones with problems this time around, as it seems like they were the "recommended drivers" in prior releases because they were (and still are) open source. I'm sure that the teams will sort things out with bug fixes, though. I'm primarily a Xubuntu user, and I think that this Xubuntu release is the best one yet. Xfce has added new features without adding heft. I'll look forward to Xfce 4.8 where they will have a fully functional menu (right now there is no menu editor), but otherwise Xfce 4.6 is a solid improvement over Xfce 4.4. I work on documentation for Xubuntu, and while the docs are decent, they will be better for the next release, too. Xubuntu is a legitmate, active project, though, and it feels good to be a part of that team. In terms of Ubuntu proper, I did give it a try for a period, and 9.04 seems like an evolutionary release in terms of features on the desktop, with the exceptions being the notification system (which I didn't think that I would like, but I found that I do like) and the boot speed improvements (which I'm sure everyone appreciates). If only OpenOffice wasn't always a UI nightmare. :/ That's all I have for now, though. :-) Thanks to the initial poster for starting up a discussion. I wouldn't expect this list to be super-active, but I'm still glad we're here and that this list is here. :) Best, Jim
