So, I'm sorry, I cannot confirm. But this is a version-issue, as you can 
see..... our versions are different...

So, they are two topics now:
- I need your version, so that I can confirm.
- The original topic: This depends on the first topic...

Do you have any packaged version of your current binaries?

pkg "libavformat"

I just ask, because compiling sources could transform our conversation into a 
compiler switch battle !?

The second chance is: Can you confirm, that this is working with those packages 
of 6.10?
In general, I don't understand, why this should be an issue with the encoder, 
while the error messages clearly speaks about an input error, which is usually 
assigned to a decoder?
So, the error message is wrong too?
