Well, at first I tried your parameters and the current version published via Ubuntu repositories showed up this performance: ---------------------------------------- >>:~/WORK# ffmpeg -i Frieda.MOD -target vcd -deinterlace Frieda.mpeg FFmpeg version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-pp --enable-swscaler --enable-pthreads --enable-libvorbis --enable-libtheora --enable-libogg --enable-libgsm --enable-dc1394 --disable-debug --enable-shared --prefix=/usr libavutil version: 1d.49.3.0 libavcodec version: 1d.51.38.0 libavformat version: 1d.51.10.0 built on Mar 12 2008 14:31:53, gcc: 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu4) Input #0, mpeg, from 'Frieda.MOD': Duration: 00:00:02.2, start: 0.197522, bitrate: 8835 kb/s Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 720x576, 8900 kb/s, 25.00 fps(r) Stream #0.1[0x80]: Audio: 0x0000, 48000 Hz, stereo, 384 kb/s Assuming PAL for target. So, I'm sorry, I cannot confirm. But this is a version-issue, as you can see..... our versions are different... ;-)) So, they are two topics now: - I need your version, so that I can confirm. - The original topic: This depends on the first topic... Do you have any packaged version of your current binaries? pkg "ffmpeg" pkg "libavcodec" pkg "libavformat" I just ask, because compiling sources could transform our conversation into a compiler switch battle !? ;-)) The second chance is: Can you confirm, that this is working with those packages of 6.10? In general, I don't understand, why this should be an issue with the encoder, while the error messages clearly speaks about an input error, which is usually assigned to a decoder? So, the error message is wrong too?
