173.08 is a beta driver, install at your own risk. I have found it to be more stable than 169.12 on my system. Release notes and download are at: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_173.08.html
I've uninstalled the nvidia-glx-new package to avoid conflicts caused by updates and the restricted driver manager trying to load the older drivers. If you install or update the nvidia-glx* packages or the kernel it will be broken. If there is an update to the ubuntu packages you should uninstall the nvidia driver (--uninstall command line option in the installer) and install the updated packages. When I get a chance I'm going to test several drivers from the archives and find out exactly which ones have problems. -- firefox crashes X on this web page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
