Yeh, Like I said in my original post:

However it is not working in Hardy, I can only type in English" So I guess the download failed during installation. Actually, I tried reinstalling last night and found myself having to manually download the Japanese support and Anthy after installation (Of course, I chose Japanese as the installation language in this case too). Maybe the Japan servers are overloaded right now, and so the language support download is failing at installation. Or maybe it's a bug, I don't know. Anyway, not a major problem but a little annoying since the Japanese language support worked out of the box in Gutsy when installing in a Japanese language environment.
