aidave, your issue is that you are mixing some drivers (like nvidia) which support Xinerama, with drivers which support Xrandr (ati radeon). You need to use drivers which all use Xinerama, so you need to revert to an older -ati, like version 6.6.3 from Feisty. Then it will work. Presumably Mandriva is still using the old deprecated Xinerama-based drivers and it too will fail when Mandriva catches up to current Xrandr- based drivers.
