If you prefer to keep your Xinerama config, you need to revert to an
older -ati, like version 6.6.3 from Feisty.

For migration, we do not support automagical conversion of Xinerama
configs to Xrandr configs.  Ubuntu has never supported creating Xinerama
layouts for you prior to Gutsy, so such configs must have been user-
crafted, and it's our policy not to alter user-crafted configs since
there is extremely high risk of invalidating your config.

There are some directions for setting up multi-screen layouts with
Xrandr available on the web, such as here:
