usplash works with 64bit ubuntu version with all nvidia cards except the
very new ones ( 8xxx serie ). I talked to a ubuntu developers and he
told me that we're not using vesafb/vesafb-tng since a while. I know
that vesafb-tng is not compatible with 64 bit, that's why I don't think
that ubuntu uses it since usplash works with 64bit except only for
nvidia 8xxx cards and since vesafb-tng is a "extended" vesafb, so we
must assume that it is also deprecated. The new one is uvesafb but I'm
not sure if vesafb/vesafb-tng/uvesafb are really needed. I don't have
necessary knowledge about that.

Can you reproduce this bug with another card than a nvidia 8xxx?
