The debug counter crash is likely the same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bpftrace/+bug/2086104.
Afaik this version of bpftrace has a linking issue against LLVM where it sometimes pulls in a static and a shared copy into the same process and when the versions mismatch it fails.
