My argument for having this in 24.04.2 is that it will undo the damage caused to those who upgraded to the bad bpftrace 0.20.2-1ubuntu4.2, just by being version 0.20.2-1ubuntu4.3 and upgrading the bad one. In any other way, this should be identical to 0.20.2-1ubuntu4 which is what is available in noble at the moment.
That being said, it doesn't have to be in the image, and can be a 0-day SRU after the noble point release, but that means users broken by 0.20.2-1ubuntu4.2 who haven't downgraded to 0.20.2-1ubuntu4 (or don't know how to), will have to wait about a week more to get the official fix. But they could also install 4.3 from noble-proposed until then.
