Xorg should be the default for all Nvidia desktops prior to 24.10.
Hybrid laptops were migrated to Wayland-by-default some time ago. That's
because they should be using the integrated GPU for everything by
default, not Nvidia. Is the integrated GPU disabled in the BIOS? What do
you see in 'lspci -k'?

The "Protocol error" is already tracked in bug 1965563, but it's
unlikely to be fixed in Jammy because it requires a whole new package
version *and* Nvidia on Wayland isn't really something we're encouraging
until 24.10.

Since we already have bug 1965563 for the "Protocol error" I'm going to
make this one about the system choosing Wayland by default. Because it
definitely should not do that with Nvidia on Jammy.
