1. kernel 5.4.0-48 -"quiet" -"splash" +"dis_ucode_ldr" cat /proc/cpuinfo > cpuinfo-5.4.0-48.txt dpkg -s intel-microcode | grep Version > intel-microcode-5.4.0-48.txt
2. kernel 4.15.0-112 -"quiet" -"splash" -"dis_ucode_ldr" cat /proc/cpuinfo > cpuinfo-4.15.0-112.txt dpkg -s intel-microcode | grep Version > intel-microcode-4.15.0-112.txt I noticed something disturbing: The printout to the screen from kernel 4 is kind of neat and left aligned. While the printout from kernel 5 is all over the screen (sloppy and not aligned - like someone missed many '\n'). This may seem unimportant, but is demonstrates the same trend I see in everything :) For example an old refrigerator works for 20 years, while the new and shiny one breaks within (not even) 5 years. ** Attachment added: "cmds.tar.gz" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1895458/+attachment/5413031/+files/cmds.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1895458 Title: Computer freezes on kernel 5, works on kernel 4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1895458/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
