Thanks. Ok, so there's nothing printed to console after grub loads the kernel and initramfs.
The parameters in your grub config look good (kernel+initramfs+cmdline w/ root= and ro.) Could you please try without 'quiet splash' again, but add the options: 'earlyprintk=vga ignore_loglevel' ? That might print some early initialization messages.
