Just tried the latest gutsy kernel on amd64 on a Toshiba Satellite A205-S4797 with the latest gutsy backport modules. Both sound playback and recording work fine. Recording quality is quite poor though. =/ Recompiling alsa-drivers 1.0.15rcX from sources seems to provide better recording quality.
