According to Juan Pablo's backtrace (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=11964&action=view), the crash seems to be occurring in a loop.
I've disabled the loop (actually two loops), and the issue seems to have disappeared (at least, I can't reproduce it at all). http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/Testing/bug127101/xserver-xorg-video- intel_2.1.1-0ubuntu7~bwh1_i386.deb Steps to reproduce: 1. Disable desktop effects and enable desktop effects again. 2. Switch to VT1 and switch back to VT7. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 several times. Note, this is *not* intended to fix the issue with playing Xv, only the original bug Juan Pablo reported. ** Attachment added: "Patch to remove two loops from i830_driver.c" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9943443/xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.1.1-0ubuntu7%7Ebwh1.debdiff -- laptop hangs when switching video mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127101 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
