Hi. Sorry, I just don't have the time to locate the commit that fixes the issue. My machine is old and slow, so even building the kernel once would probably take ages. Frankly, it would be less effort to boot into Windows every time I wanted to scan something!
Ideally we could get Canon interested in finding the good commit and in testing each kernel build. I raised a support request yesterday and gave them the link to this bug. But I haven't got much meaningful back from them so far. They said this: "Thank you for providing Canon with your feedback regarding this particular issue when trying to scan with scangearmp with your Ubuntu 14.04 system. I can confirm that the scangearmp functions normally on an Ubuntu 13.04 system, however you will have to wait for the next update. For more information I would like to direct you to our download page. http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg7150.aspx?type=drivers&driverdetailid=tcm:14-1094039&os=Linux%20(64-bit)&language=EN" - it's not clear to me by "you will have to wait for the next update" whether they are referring to an update of ubuntu or an update of scangearmp. I've asked them to clarify. I'll update this bug if they come back with any useful comments or suggestions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529232 Title: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1529232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
