It may be worth noting that for my 14.04 install, after running this update my second screen in my Optimus configuration started running correctly, but after the reboot when this was reported my second screen stopped working and my work VM (windows 7 running in VMW Workstation 10.latest) reported video compatibility issues and is now experiencing blue screens (3 times in two days since the reboot). Don't have any logging to show firm correlation, but it's awfully suspicious.
