Sup guys, I think I might have experienced the same issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics- drivers-331-updates/+bug/1412406
Not sure, but someone marked it as duplicate. Anyway, I just convinced a friend to use Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS instead of Windows, and then this happens 2x in a row - for both of us - on all our Nvidia machines (2x laptops, 2x desktops). First it happend with the Nvidia -current repo, then with the -update repo, using driver 331.113. In my case, the error mentioned above popped up, but Ubuntu still works as intended after a reboot. However, my friend didn't have that much luck. In his case, Ubuntu kept crashing and games would get buggy. The solution: Uninstall the Nvidia drivers, reboot, use Nouveau, install the Nvidia drivers again, reboot, done. I expect this kind of OS breaking behaviour on normal releases of Ubuntu, but not on LTS.
