Had the same problem this morning. After problems trying to get the 334.21 NVIDIA driver installed on Mint for a new 750Ti card, I decided to just install the Ubuntu 14.04 and then use a PPA with the driver I'd found. The install went smoothly, I *think*. Part way through, the graphics on the screen were stretched vertically so I could no longer see informational messages or prompts; I just hit ENTER once the installation seemed to be done, and the DVD ejected and the system rebooted after I closed the try and hit ENTER again.
Everything looked normal until the lines error: symbol `grub_term_highlight_color' not found. grub rescue> appeared. I have NEVER installed grub myself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
