Yes, there could be a fine line between "takes to long" and it is actually hanging. I remember receiving reports of machines hanging, with ps outputs send to me of "stuck" processes. System info column, is irrelevant, we always did that OS scan and displayed that info the into drop-down for "target device to install bootloader", we simply added a column to also display it in the table view. It did not any extra, processing at all.
