I am using LInux Mint 12 x64, Gnome Shell version 3.2.2.1. Laptop: Lenovo T61, Graphics: Intel 965GM.
I have been experiencing this problem since installing Linux Mint nearly 2 months ago. I have tried solutions 1 and 3, but crashes still occur. That is, various applications in the gnome shell and the shell itself will be unresponsive, and then eventually (within 5-10 seconds) all the windows become unresponsive. Alt-F2 doesn't work. I have to restart using Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. I would say this happens on average once a day for me. In case this is relevant, the application I run regularly are Chrome, Thunderbird, and Terminal. I frequently switch between virtual desktop, but I don't think the crashes happen exclusively when I do this. I'm pretty close to just scrapping gnome shell and using MATE instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
