I realized its not the ubuntu problem or our problem. its the new drivers
problem. when i was using the last version of linux few days ago after
upgrading to the new nvidia driver i faced the same problem and i was not able
to use the unity 3D or Gnome desktop but after downgrade to the last version
(the version i was using before upgrade) everything backed and i used my ubuntu
as usual. i did the same while ago and i downgraded it from 295.40 to 295.33
and now its working pretty good.
i think you better try downgrade it and see whats the result.
