im using an emachine El1352 with a nvidia gforce 6150se and its effect me also. with or with out additional drivers i cant use unity 3D. its just a black screen. im using 2D now and the file is attached. i think its all about the new nvidia driver coz in the details part of the system there no information about the graphic but in the last version of ubuntu my graphic was working like a charm and the system knows every detail of my graphic card.
