As a basic but everyday user I am totally committed to Unity, have been
since 11.04, and find it growing on me. I use global menu's but still
don't like them for non-maximized apps. I will never understand why it
is better to have the menu disappear until you mouse over. I'll keep
using it, but am not sure at this point I'll ever really love the
current configuration.

Likewise I have converted 7 total windows users in 3 families (started
at 10.04), all of whom are very non-technical. Nobody has complained
about anything in the upgrade and seem to get along fine, however the
one biggest discover-ability fail goes to finding the menu. I
consistently hear "wait that wasn't there a minute ago", "why does it go
away" and such.
