I will try disabling the reflexion extension. Is there anything else I should try doing to capture more details about the crashes?
Like I said, I just did a fresh install (for first time) yesterday to Mint 12 (used to use Ubuntu 10.10, did a full replacement by reformatting and installing Mint). I did a system update to update all packages after the install. I've installed very little so far -- been experiencing the crashes early on. The first things I installed right after the install was VMware workstation 8, chrome and the gnome extensions (windowlist and reflextion, which I now have both disabled). These are the only out of box changes I've made so far. When I "crash", I have to use CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to restart the shell. I only get a screen of last thing I see before the crash and a pointer that I can move around, thats it. I'm able to toggle to command prompts (ALT+CTRL+F1 etc) just fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
