Just installed Linux Mint 12 on my workstation. In my case it seems like the gnome-shell recovers/ reloads by itself. (short screen flutter, no windows lost)

Happens often. Only difference I can see from "default" Linux Mint 12 installation is that I am using btrfs. Bunshee is not running. Firefox, Terminals, Nautilus... nothing special yet.
