I have the same problem; resetting the drive doesn't help. The problem occurs 
on Feisty with the latest updates on an Intel x86_64. I used multiple drives to 
test it, and the problem occurs with each drive, so it seems to be 
drive-independent. The problem just occurred, I don't know what caused it. The 
only thing that changed is that I updated some packages. I don't where the 
activity of the adept update manager is logged, if someone know how to find 
that, I can post which packages I updated before noticing the problem.
The output of dmesg and lspci is attached.
