[Stable Fix] The same fix can be used for stable release (including the - sync with debian) + sync with debian), see [Development Fix]. [Test Case] Start gnome-alsamixer in a terminal, it should crash on start with a segfault. [Regression Potential] No, the package is already unusuable, it couldn't be worst.
