Hello. I also installed this update in oneiric and it does indeed fix the problem. Thanks for that! However, this version of gnome-alsamixer does not offer the same functions, the versions in natty and before offered (ex. no mute-checkboxes for the "master" and other sound card elements, except for "beep"-element.)
