@ethos_dacapo: Please don't post messages that are only intended to get some attention for your bug and don't add any new information, *especially* not on another bug. This does nothing to help anyone get to your bug faster and only adds useless noise. There are many bugs and most cannot be responded to immediately, so please try and be patient.
You may be running into multiple issues. If you rarely see networks that implies that scans may be failing. This could be bug #767192 -- I know you already tested the fix there, but perhaps it fixes your scans but you then encounter other problems when trying to associate. Does the test kernel posted there have any effect on your ability to see wireless networks or to connect to open networks? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/767192/comments/119 I see successful authentication with an open AP in your logs, and I also see multiple failed to authenticate with the AP named dd-wrt with WEP security. The obvious first thing to check there is that you have the correct key entered. If you've verified that the key is correct and you still cannot authenticate, try running the following commands: sudo modprobe -r ath5k sudo modprobe ath5k nohwcrypt=1 and then see if you are able to authenticate. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Seth Forshee (sforshee) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784768 Title: Ath5k on Acer Aspire One ZG5 not working. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
