Problem resolved.  Logging out and back in fixed the issue.  I know for
certain that gwibber-services wasn't running when I wrote the last
message.  Something was preventing gwibber from starting.

Since I have completely new config files at this point, I don't know the
root cause of my problems.  Clearing the configuration files, then
logging out and back in fixed it for me.
