It worked for me with mostly minor problems. Had the following issues: Synaptics touchpad virtual scrolling does not work correctly Clock configuration was changed Panel icons placed in center of bottom toolbar (see pic) Kontact calendar appointment was lost Kontact To Do item was duplicated
Details: Did a fresh Kubuntu 6.10 install on HP ze4325us laptop and installed updates. Installed some typical user things such as Firefox, Flash 9, Gimp, customized the desktop a little, configured Kontact, Amarok, and Kopete. The upgrade tool worked almost perfectly except I did get an error message during the cleanup phase: "E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code(1)". Note, when I clicked the Report Bug button, it began to start Konqueror but it never successfully launched. The upgrade took about 2 hours, and preserved correctly the Firefox bookmarks, Kontact mail store, contacts, Amarok collection, and Kopete configuration. The most serious problem was the Synaptics touchpad virtual scrolling. With 6.10 and 7.04 Live CDs it has always configured perfectly, but after the 7.04 upgrade it seems to be not calibrated correctly. Before the upgrade I had configured the clock to display seconds. After the upgrade the seconds were gone and it changed to digital clock type. The screenshot shows the displaced panel icons. Note, the Debian background is what I selected before the upgrade and was preserved correctly. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot after 7.04 upgrade" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6934822/kubuntu_7.04_beta_upgrade.png -- SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/84717 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
