I can confirm that the new upload of Plymouth fixed this bug. Guys, please listen to Steve Langasek. He fixes these bugs, he knows what he's doing. He is correct with saying that an equal symptom doesn't mean the cause is equal. It could be that some people suffer from both different causes, that is perfectly possible.
