Nicolas, is it really the parameter i915.modset=0 that makes the difference? From your Dmesg.txt (output of dmesg): [ 2.529193] i915: Unknown parameter `modset'
The right spelling is i915.modeset=0, and I think that currently it is recommended to use nomodeset instead. Does this do the same? Since you are able to get a terminal even without seeing the mouse pointer, would it be possible for you to start without any special kernel option and file a bug report using `ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg- video-intel` from that terminal (and then finding the buttons in Firefox)? That would give us a bug report with logs from when the problem actually occurs. If you think that would be difficult, you can just run `apport-collect 508697` from the terminal. That would upload the same information to this bug report, which makes it a little bit more messy, but that is okay. -- [gm45] No mouse pointer after boot (KMS only) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/508697 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
