Here's the problem as I experience it step-by-step (hope this helps) (with usbmount installed) reload connect player Sony Walkman icon appears on desktop as "Sony Corp. WALKMAN" Rhythmbox starts Rhythmbox has no Walkman icon Click on desktop icon and the following occurs: - opens Nautilus at Location:gphoto2://[usb:002,002]/ - WALKMAN icon is highlighted - gives the error: 'The folder contents could not be displayed. Sorry, could not display all the contents of "Sony WALKMAN": Failed to get folder list: -1: Unspecified error'
As recommended, I kill process gvfs-gphoto2-volume-monitor Walkman icon disappears from Nautilus but remains on the desktop If click on desktop icon again, Location gphoto2://[usb:002,002]/ is opened again but Walkman icon is not in list and no item is highlighted, empty window is displayed remove player - desktop icon immediately vanishes re-insert player Walkman icon now appears in Rhythmbox and can access music etc desktop icon does not re-appear If I kill gvfs-gphoto2-volume-monitor before connecting player as suggested by Jean (above), I get TWO desktop icons appear, one labelled 'WALKMAN' and the other labelled 'Sony Corp. WALKMAN', the first disappears within a few seconds and everything continues as above. I then checked and it seems that gvfs-gphoto2-volume-monitor has restarted. -- Sony Walkman NWZ-S618F in Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
