I've just booted 2.6.22-14-generic which is what I used to use on Hardy (it's from Gutsy but 2.6.24 on Hardy had other problems on my machine). It doesn't work - same error (with BT_GETCAPABILITIES).
It used to work with this kernel on Hardy.
