To add a somewhat different data point, I observed this bug report's problem on a Thinkpad W500, which has an Intel WiFi Link 5300 card managed by iwlagn, connecting to an 802.11bg AP (Verizon's Westell 7500) and using WPA2. My video card is Intel's GM45 integrated graphics (4500MHD). I doubt the characters in my WPA passphrase matter in this case, since it's hashed to a fixed-size key way before anything that seems to be going on in this bug. "lspci -vvnn" output attached.
