agreed, Vista looks damn ugly without aero desktop and you need a heavy deauty system ... but you can make Linux look anyway you want. I just can't stand Windows look and feel ... its so irritating ... and limited ...
new tip I just found for Linux: middle click on the maximize box to maximize vertically right click on the maximize box to maximize horizontally I don't think Windows ever had these clever, little useful options that just changes the way you work ...
