CALL FOR PAPERS *The 12th International Conference on Intelligent Environments - IE'16 <http://www.intenv.org/>* http://www.intenv.org/ Intelligent Environments (IEs) refer to physical spaces into which IT and other pervasive computing technology are woven and used to achieve specific goals for the user, the environment or both. IEs have the ultimate objective of enriching user experience, better manage, and increase user awareness of, that environment. The 12th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE’16) will be held at the city of London, one of the most influential cities in the modern world, with rich offerings to visitors. *Conference Program:* The conference provides a multidisciplinary collaborative forum for researchers and practitioners from*Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Building Architecture, Art & Design, Sociology, Government and Education* to present theoretical and practical results related to the development and applications of Intelligent Environments. The event will include*regular full/short papers* as well as a *Doctoral Colloquium, *a *Posters Session *and* Demos & Videos Session*. *Workshops Program: *as in previous editions, a number of workshops during the first two days (12-13 September) will complement the main conference program. The following Workshops have been proposed : Workshop on the “Cloud of Things” (COT 2016) Workshop on Computation, Sustainability, Technologies and Applications (CoSTA'2016) Workshop on “Creative Science” (Creative Science 2016) 2nd Symposium on Future Intelligent Educational Environments and Learning (SOFIEE'16) 2nd International Workshop on the Future Internet and Smart Networks (FI&SN 2016) 7th International Workshop on Intelligent Environments Supporting Healthcare and Well-being (WISHWell 2016) Workshop on Legal Issues in Intelligent Environments (LIEI 2016) 5th International Workshop on the Reliability of Intelligent Environments (WoRIE 2016) 5th International Workshop on Smart Offices and Other Workplaces (SOOW 2016) Workshop on Wireless Body Area Networks for Personal Monitoring in Intelligent Environments (WBAN-PMIE) *Publications:* All papers accepted in the main conference will be published in internationally indexed proceedings (negotiations are currently underway with the IEEE, who published the proceedings of previous editions of the conference). All papers accepted in the Workshops program will be published as a volume of the Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments Series (ISI indexed) by IOS Press, which will also be Open Access, and be made electronically available through the ACM Digital Library. *Journal* *Special Issues:* a number of journal special issues will be published subsequently, encompassing core areas of the event. We have guarantees of special issues from the editorial boards of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments (JAISE), Intelligent Buildings International and Transactions on Future Intelligent Educational Environments (TOFIEE). We also hope to be allocated a special issue of the open access journal Sensors (impact factor 2.5). *Industrial Forum*: this will be a networking event providing an opportunity for the business sector to showcase their innovations. *Tutorials Programme:* this conference will include a number of tutorials, each designed to introduce an important cutting-edge theme to people developing their interest in that area, delivered by experts on the following important relevant topics : “An Intuitive Tutorial on the Docker Paradigm” by Dr. Pethuru Chelliah (IBM India) “Prototyping IoT-based Applications for Ubiquitous Smart Environments and Healthcare” by Dr. Jeanette Chin & Dr. Alin Tisin (Anglia Ruskin University, U.K.) “The Emergence of Affective and Physiological Computing in Ambient User Centred Systems” by Dr. Faiyaz Doctor (Coventry University, U.K.) "End-to-End Security for the IoT" by Dr. James Dooley (Andium Ltd., U.K.) “Intelligent automation – Smart Manufacturing” by Dr. Raphael Grech (Manufacturing Technology Centre, U.K.) “Design and Research for the Advanced Human Augmentation” by Dr. Tiina Kymäläinen (VTT, Finland) “Designing Data Visualisations for Intelligent Environments: A Human Factors Primer” by Prof. William Wong (Middlesex University, U.K.) *Keynote Speakers : *The conference will include keynote lectures the following distinguished speakers : * Prof. Andrew Hudson-Smith *(Professor of Digital Urban Systems, University College London, U.K.) *Dr. Nuria Oliver Ramirez (*Scientific Director, Telefónica Research, Spain) *Dr. A.J.
